About Nike Freeks
Nike Freeks were originally released around 2005 and were discontinued sometime around 2009.
In 2016, they eventually hit the market again due to the demand. The collectors market went crazy for the release of the v2 Nike Freeks as they changed almost nothing with the design and released some of the original colorways.
Now, these shoes have been discontinued again and many are after finding another pair, or their first pair since these shoes are so cool and comfortable.
Colorways Offered of Nike Freeks
Nike Freeks only came in a 4 colorways that I'm aware of in their original release. Those were:
- Red and black
- Blue and white
- White and black
- Black and grey
Since they remade these shoes in 2016 and for many seasons to follow, there are now many other colorways you'll find, which include:
- Pink, volt green, and black (known as the Rio Olympics edition)
- Black and metallic silver
- White and red
- Blue and metallic silver
- Grey, black and volt green
- White, blue, black and volt green
All of these models and colorways have a massive following. It's pretty rare to find a shoe like this where all colorways go for about the same price in the collectors market.
How Much Are Freeks Worth?
Nike Freeks in brand new with the box condition can pull anywhere between $250-500 depending on where they're listed, how bad someone wants them, and ultimately how hard it is to find that specific size/colorway you have. They are awesome shoes with a growing market, so I anticipate the value of Freeks to go up.
Worn Freeks will bring likely less than the prices above, especially if they are heavily worn. I'd say the average going price for a pair of good condition Nike Freeks as of February 2024 is around $200-250 if in a size 9-11.5. Size 12 and up are still relatively easy to find in great shape as less people wear those sizes, and thus size 12 and up are worth less.
One note on these is that original Freeks may bring in a higher price point to some collectors. You can tell if you have originals as they'll have a signature on the bottom heel of the shoe. It's toward the front of the heel pad on both shoes. That's one of the only very small differences between the originals vs the remakes!
Fun Fact About Nike Freeks
A fun fact about these shoes is that Nike sampled a "Freek 2" shortly after discontinuing the originals. A few pairs of these samples float around the collectors market and the most common of them is a black/white colorway. They were very different in design than the freeks that hit the market and they included the Nike 360 sole (Similar to takedown 4s and Speed Elites) and a strap instead of a lace pocket.
Though these samples are worth a small fortune on the collectors market, I'm glad when they remade Nike Freeks that they kept the original design, as I like it a lot more.

Will the navy colored freeks be releasing again anytime soon and if so where they are sold out everywhere I have checked for size 8.5
I have my doubts, but it’s hard to say. I didn’t think Freeks would be released again in general but they brought them back in select colors due to demand.
I just got ahold of a pair of white freeks and wondering how to tell which version I have? Or which release date of the shoe.. white and black freeks.
If they’re new they’re most likely the newest release from Dicks or Athlete Performance Solutions. The only minor difference of the originals and all of the remakes is colorways released and the originals had a signature on the heal of the sole.
Do nike freeks run small? I have recently bought a pair size 12.5. My wrestling shoes right now is 11.5. Did I choose the right size? I am afraid
I think you’ll be fine. It’s been a while since I’ve worn Freeks, but assuming they fit the same now as the originals did, I think you’ll be fine. I remember competing all summer in a pair of 11.5s for one season and I typically wear 10.5-11. Most Nike shoes run around a half size small.
Is there a 2024 Freek coming? Are they available for purchase anywhere?
Yes. They were recently released in August on Dick’s but sold out very quickly.
It was announced this morning they would go live on Oct 1 on Athlete Performance Solutions.
We just got them at dicks for our son
Awesome! They did a release a few weeks ago, and I got one pair, but most were sold out. Were you able to get them in person? I see they’re back in stock online today but all the local stores to where I’m at look like they may be available online only.
