Nike Blue, Silver and Orange Illinois Original Kolat Wrestling Shoes

• Known as Illinois Original (OG) Kolats, or Illinois Kolat 2000s.
• Amazing shape with only flaw being minor peeling of leather.  See pictures.
• Though the seller to me was unaware, I do think the soles may have been professionally replaced.  I can’t confirm this, but the soles are in AMAZING condition for being 20+ years old.
• If they were custom sole swapped, they definitely used Kolat Replica soles and were done by a true professional.  They are PERFECT.
• This is the only colorway of Kolat 2000s made for a university team
• A beautiful dark blue, silver, and orange colorway with an “I” on the tongue

Fun fact: These shoes went to a former Illini wrestler.  I learned from him that the coach at the time, Mark Johnson, and the Assistant Coach (at the time) Jim Heffernan, both had ties to Oregon (where Nike is headquarted) because their former roles were at Oregon State.  This is likely why Illinois was the only team with team-issued OG Kolats.  I learned from the buyer they wore Nike everything, even down to the socks.  Back in the early 2000s, teams had much stricter guidelines around what they could/couldn’t wear based on their sponsorships.
