Extremely Rare Shoe
Soles do have flaws including 2 small holes in the one sole and chipping on the sides of both soles. These flaws have been shoe-goo'ed with black shoe goo to help prevent further damage.
The shoes are in wearable condition, but I wouldn't recommend wearing them heavily unless you plan on replacing the soles.
Adidas Grappler Wrestling shoes came in this gold colorway, as well as a white, red, and sample blue colorway. The sample blues are the rarest, and Golds are likely the second. These shoes are extremely hard to find. After they were released, they were deemed illegal because the heal was too low. That is one of the reasons this shoe looks so cool. Adidas came out with G-Responses (or Grappler Responses) as a safer alternative to this shoe. The low heal is said to lead to more ankle injuries in the sport.
Numerous people still wear these shoes for competition, even at the NCAA level. The banning of this shoe was so long ago, I haven't ever seen it enforced. 2x All-American and 4x PAState Champion Chance Marstellar is known for wearing these and owning the extremely rare blue colorway.
